The Future Savior Blog Tour - Day Two! - Character Interview + Giveaway

Hey ya'll! Happy Tuesday and I'm so happy to have my good friend and fellow author Jennifer Hartz on the blog today. She's written this stellar series called the Future Savior (which I highly recommend), and today is a stop on the blog tour!

Enjoy the interview with her heroine Chistina and don't forget to enter the giveaway at the bottom :D

Before I continue my sharing my conversation with the Future Savior, Christina Vaughn, let me remind you of the two giveaways going on right now.  At the bottom of this blog you'll be able to enter to win 1 of 4 autographed copies of FS1: Conception.  The other contest is attached to my Couples of Meric blog… click the link below to enter:

I have to thank the super awesome Victoria Smith for letting me continue my interview with the Future Savior on her blog today.  If you haven't checked out Victoria's books be sure to do so!  I highly recommend her series, The Eldaen Light Chronicles.  So good!  Plus there's the hunky Gemini… hmmmmm Gemini!
Okay, if you didn't get a chance to check out the first part of my interview with the Future Savior, be sure to follow the link back to my blog and give it a look:

All right, now to continue with the interview…

***SPOILER ALERT!!! THERE BE SPOILERS HERE IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE FIRST 4 BOOKS OF THE FS SERIES***

"Wait one freakin' second," I exclaim. "Are you telling me you're dead?"

"Don't be ridiculous, of course I'm not dead," Christina replies, laughing.

"But you just said some guy named Rayliex killed you!"
"Well… I guess he technically did, but I didn't actually die.  You see, Charis sent my consciousness into the past… my seventeen-year-old self actually."  (Check out FS2: Resurrection for this story!)

"Huh?"

Christina chuckles.  "Yeah, the things that Charis can do really makes your head spin, but she did do it.  So I had to spend three days inside my seventeen year old body.  Insane!  Plus I got to see Shaw.  It was strange because he was in disguise as a kid at my high school.  Even back then when I was seventeen he was my Watcher, protecting me.

"Finally, I made it back to Meric.  Things were really heating up because Leticia was moving her armies.  Jonus, the king of the Elves, decided to send Shaw to the front lines.  Little did I know Jonus did this because he had an alternative motive.  And something truly awful happened while Shaw was away.  I had a vision of him dying during a battle.  He scarified his life to save an entire village."

"Oh no!" I gasp.  At the same moment there's a loud click and I realize my tape recorder has run out of tape.  I scrounge through my bag for a minute to retrieve another tape.  Christina waits patiently while I get ready.  "Okay, you just said Shaw died!"

Christina nods. "Yes.  I was so depressed I wanted to die.  I was nonfunctional. Time passed by in a very strange fashion.  Days dragged by at a snail's pace, but time also flew by and all of sudden a year had passed.  I tried to move on with my life without Shaw and that included Jonus."

"Jonus?  But you said he had an alternative motive."

"That's right.  Of course I didn't know it at the time.  Jonus sent Shaw away with hopes that Shaw would be killed so that Jonus could have me for himself.  Not long after I attempted to move on with Jonus, I discovered the truth and fled.  However, I was immediately attacked by Rayliex."

"Rayliex again.  So you had to fight the guy who already sort of killed you once."

"Not only that, but during my time in Verna Mount, where the Elves live, I discovered that Rayliex is actually my brother," Christina replies.

"WHAT?"

"Leticia used her power to control people's minds to seduce my father, Davis," Christina explains.

"Whoa…"

"It came as quite a shock to me as well," she snickers a little at my stunned expression.  "I was hurt really bad during the battle, but Shaw also returned."

"Wait a minute… Shaw didn't die?"

"No, he was perfectly fine.  From my vision it looked like he should have been crushed.  He was buried in tons of rocks and ruble, but he made it out with barely a scratch."

"How is that possible?" I ask. I simply cannot believe the story my strange visitor is sharing… and I can't believe I am going to be the one who gets to write this account.

"Oh, the answer to that comes later in this tale," she replies with a wide grin. "Now with Shaw back in my life we decided to get married."

"How wonderful!"

"It should have been wonderful except Shaw was keeping secrets from me.  Right when we were about to say our vows I had a vision of the past and I saw something that drove me away from Shaw… he killed my father."
