POLYVORE.COM
Happy Monday peeps! I'm blogging today to share my latest obsession. Most obsessions can be bad, but for a writer this one is stellar!!!
I've heard about polyvore.com before. I was aware that you could create outfits and I just hadn't made it to the site yet to tinker...well Saturday night I did. I started at 9:00pm...I WAS THERE UNTIL 4:00am!
You can create entire wardrobes for your characters and not only that, but storyboards, too!!!! As in scenes in your book if you fancy. Well, let me tell you I had too much fun. I'll share a few of my favorite wardrobe boards.
Ariel Richmond
My heroine's outfit when she first meets her hero!
Ariel is a total hipster and here's the proof above :D Up next...
Ariel's party outfit!
As you can see, you can also add makeup and more accessories. For any gal that loved paper dolls growing up, you can see my fascination with this!!! It's stellar. Up next...
Piper Lovelace
Ariel's Bestie
Piper is a little bit rockstar, a little bit supermodel, and a little bit Japanese anime. Too fun!
So those were examples of outfit creation. I had one more I tinkered with and it was too fun. Storyboards!!!!
Ariel and Luca Love <3
A Tribute to Ariel and Luca from The Crimson Hunt
As you can see, you can add text! I put lines from The Crimson Hunt and added some themes from the book. Super fun!!!
There you have it writers, an excellent tool to get those characters clothes out of your head and on screen and readers use this to just have some fun or coordinate your own outfits or storyboards!!!
Happy creating, peeps!!!
One more thing! The cover for The Crimson Hunt comes out in a few short weeks!!! Watch the blog for updates and if you're a book blogger or just want to help me out ;) email me to participate in the reveal!

Oh no. One more website for me to be obsessed with :D I'll definitely have to check this out!!
Haha, Clare Dugmore introduced me to Polyvore, and I gotta say, it's an excellent way to waste time LOL! On the other hand, I think it could also fall into the category "inspirational activities" ;)
I love Polyvore, and always use it for inspiration. I have pages of outfits for my different characters. Having that visual inspiration really inspires me.
Oh Victoria-I love this. Can you come and dress me? I am in dire need of a stylist!! Great choices.
Ah the joy that is polyvore:)I have never used it for characters but I have used it to find ideas for my own wardrobe...it is endless fun.
I love the character visuals you have put together.
Darn it, Victoria! I lost two writing hours last night. LOL
Haha! you should. I'm toooo obsessed!
Haha you're right. Wasted way to much time. I'm scared when I start my next book. These outfits were already picked out in my head without this software. Imagine what it will be like starting from square one!
Too true. I'm so happy I found it. It helps get those pesky outfits out of my head and on paper better for description :D
Girl, I can't even dress myself, tehe. Thanks so much :)
It duals as both! Thanks for stopping by Rebecca ;) And for your complements!
tehe! *snickers* Oh so sorry my dear ;D
My favorite pic of Piper. Ever. :D
You should make these for people who already have books out, you're kind of awesome at it.
This is such a cool site. I am not a big "fashion" person but I think this would be an awesome way for me to bring my characters to life more!
omg, noo!!! lol, you've gotten be interested in this new site. One more place for me to spend my time when I should be doing work, haha. :)
I adore Polyvore (and yet also find it intimidating, because "visual art" is the lowest talent on my art scale), but I never thought about using it as a character design board. What a great idea!
