Release Date: September 7, 2012
Genre: New Adult Urban Fantasy Romance
Publisher: Curiosity Quills Press
What do you do when you realize nothing in your life is what you’ve believed it to be?
When Arionna Jacobs loses her mother in a tragic accident, her world is turned upside down. She’s forced to leave her old life behind and move in with her father. Dace Matthews, a teaching assistant at her new college, is torn in two, unable to communicate with the feral wolf caged inside him.
When they meet, everything they thought they knew about life unravels. Dace has intimate access to Arionna’s mind, and something deep within her fights to rise to the surface. They don't understand what's happening to them or why, and they're running out of time to sort out the strange occurrences around them.
Their meeting sets an ancient Norse prophesy of destruction in motion, and what destiny has in store for them is bigger than either could have ever imagined. Unless they learn to trust themselves and one another, they may never resolve the mystery surrounding who they are to one another, and what that means for the world.
Hey all! I'm a stop on the Fade Blog Tour! FADE is a new adult urban fantasy romance by my Curiosity Quills sister, A.K. Morgen. A.K. was gracious enough to lend me her swoonworthy hero, Dace, for a few questions. Here's the interview!
Enjoy!
Me: What's your favorite place in the world, Dace?
Dace: Being with Arionna anywhere is like being home to me. I've never felt as peaceful and on fire at once as I do when I'm around her. It's like if I don't touch her, I'll go crazy. And if I do touch her, I'll go crazy. It's the most bizarre sensation, but it feels right. *smiles a little at the thought* Her thoughts have the same effect. Nothing calms the wolf quite like listening to the endless chatter in her mind. She feels right to us.
Barring being with her, there's a small pond in the heart of the woods right outside town. It's secluded, quiet. The trees just disappear for an acre or so and this still pond sits there unnoticed by my neighbors. I like it out there.
Me: Ah, sigh... *Victoria drops interview paper in a daze. Sits up and clears throat* Um, great answer. So Arionna sounds like a super stellar chick. What were your first impressions of her when you met her?
Dace: Honestly? I didn't know what to think of her when I first saw her. She looked so lost and broken sitting on that picnic table with her hair tangling in the wind around her. And so beautifully familiar. I wanted to reach out and touch her, to make sure she was real and I hadn't just imagined her. But more than that, she looked like she needed someone to tell her that everything would be okay. I wanted to do that for her. And run in the other direction. Which I did. Run in the other direction, I mean. *shrugs* It seemed the most prudent idea at the time.
Me: Such a beautiful meeting, Dace. So, if you had three words to describe you, what would they be?
Dace: Impossible, irritating, and bossy. *laughs, smirking* That's what Arionna tells me. Frequently. I prefer cautious, careful and alpha. Someone has to be, right?
Me: Oh, I completely agree, Dace. Big strong men with a good head on their shoulders = awesomeness, and I'm sure you do a great job of protecting your lady! So moving on, if a genie granted you a single wish, what would it be?
Dace: To get everyone through the coming battle safely. Ari, the pack, Chelle and her sister, Mandy . . . . I'm working on making that happen.
Me: That's so brave and admirable of you and a great wish! So, last question: your favorite season and why?
Dace: Winter. Everything is quiet in winter. Even the wolf stops rattling the cage so hard then. I like that. I don't have to fight so hard. I can just be for a little while. That's always nice, and winter in the south is great. No snow, not too cold. Just quiet, less rushed.
*grins at Victoria* Thanks for letting me stop by and chat, Victoria. You're a much more pleasant host than Ayden. She uses duct tape and threats.
Me: Aww, Dace. You are such a sweetie pie! And I will talk to Ayken and shake my finger at her. Thanks for stopping by and come back anytime!
