Well, it's not official yet, but I just mailed out my forms to be a part of the Romance Writers of America!
For those that don't know, the RWA is a great resource for published and unpublished writers to connect with one another and aid each other on the road to publication! There are many associations out there depending on what genre one is in and I can't wait to start using my resources to help my little series get out the door and to you lovely readers!
I attended my second local chapter meeting, The Prairie Hearts, on Saturday and it was a blast. They are all planning a trip to Chicago to go to Spring Fling!, a writer's conference where there will be agents at the ready to pitch to and Simone Elkeles will be there. For those who don't know she is the writer of this amazing book:
She's also a Midwestern girl like myself and we both went to the same undergrad, so yeah! I will definitely be posting about the conference. It's in April so I have a while, but I know it's going to be a blast! I am also giving away said book above in my giveaway so check out my giveaway button to the right of the page.

Good for you for joining the RWA. Be sure you take advantage of everything that group has to offer!
So cool! Conferences and groups like this are such a great resource. Can't wait to hear more about how things go in April. That is exciting! RWA will be an amazing group to be a part of :)
That's great! I love conferences. They are so helpful and inspiring.
I'd love to go to a conference but have no idea when they are/ if there's even a chapter in my area. Something I should definitely look into, good for you for joining RWA!
Hi you!
I have an award for you over at my blog. :)
Oh, thanks so much Kelley! I will definitely be doing a post about this soon. I really appreciate the award :)
You can go to the RWA website and they have a link where you can find your local chapter. I think it will be a great resource. I would definitely check it out!
Hey! I saw your post on Cassie's blog. It's so nice to "meet" someone else who writes characters in their twenties! :)
Awesome! I am obsessed with New Adult/Upper YA fiction and characters in their 20s need more recognition out there! Thanks for the follow, checking out your blog now. And I loved your excerpt from Cassie's blog this week. Had me seriously fanning myself, super hot scene :)
I agree! (Which is why most of my book takes place on a college campus. *grins*) You're very welcome. Thanks to you, too!
Oh, thanks! I liked yours, too. Way to represent NA/Upper YA-ish books! :)
Ah! College campuses! Loves! It's the only way to go you know :)
It's been so long since I've been to a writer's group.....outside of the blogosphere, that is! ;)
