It's Holiday Fling's Book Birthday!!!

Tarrah Reid is aware that she holds the name of a famous Hollywood actress… Not that she cares, since the association helps with her Christmas “floozy” persona. She has one goal every Christmas Eve: sleep with her roommate’s cousin while the rest of the family is distracted by fruitcake. However, her annual conquest comes to a screeching halt when she winds up in the middle of a bank robbery and is miraculously saved by a handsome, redheaded stranger.

A few hours with medical student Chase Stewart has Tarrah’s mind in a daze and her heart aflutter. Suddenly, Tarrah no longer wants her fling—she wants Chase. But if there’s one thing Tarrah has discovered this Christmas Eve, it’s that the Christmas gods have it out for her. Her new favorite redhead and her fling have way more in common than just their towering heights. The anticipated announcement of fruitcake has never been more heightened. Before the fruited-pastry delight is served, Tarrah must decide what she really desires this Christmas Eve – a simple fling or something more.

A New Adult contemporary romance, Holiday Fling is a short Christmas tale with a spicy kick.

The Truths about Dating and Mating Excerpt!

Greetings!  It's day 5 of my blog tour and I want to thank my awesome CP, Victoria Smith, for allowing me to come on her blog and share an excerpt of my book, The Truths about Dating and Mating, which releases tomorrow!
I tossed my head back and laughed as he walked away, and then clapped my hands as the opening beats of Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” came on the jukebox. “I love this song!”
I jumped up from my stool and starting dancing, singing along with half the patrons in the bar.
For the second time that night, Ian watched me with a smile of amusement as he leaned his weight on his cue stick. I made an exaggerated fish face as I danced around and cocked my brow at him. He shook his head, and I could only imagine the number of synonyms for "nuts" he was coming up with in his head.
Gliding forward to the beat of the song, I placed my hands on his hips and tried to get him to move. “Come on, Ian, dance! Move those hips.”
“I don’t dance,” he said in a monotone, refusing to budge.
“Well, you know what they say: bad dancer, bad in bed.” I gave him a saucy wink and pivoted away to grab my drink. I turned back to look at him a moment later, wanting to see his reaction, but stepped back in surprise when I realized he was directly behind me. “Whoa. Hello,” I said with a laugh.
With a wicked glint in his eyes, Ian took the drink from my hand and put it on the table.
“Hey! What are you…?”
He grabbed my hips and pulled me back against him, resting his chin against my cheekbone. Then he swayed us from one side to the other, winding us slowly and sinuously toward the ground and back up again in time to the music.
            Guh!
“I said I don’t dance,” Ian said into my ear. His licorice-flavored breath tickled my cheek like a feather and his whiskers scratched my jaw. “Not that I can’t.” With a playful swat on my behind, he moved away.
I goggled at the wall ahead of me. Did that just happen? I wouldn’t have believed it if not for the small sparks arcing back and forth in my nerve endings. I immediately wanted that feeling – whatever it was – back again. I spun to find him leaning against the pool table. His mouth was still pulled into that little smile, but it was missing from his eyes. He actually looked a little uncertain.
Shaking off my lust-induced stupor, I pointed a finger at him. “You’ve been holding out on me!” I marched over and grabbed his hand. “Come on.”
            He resisted my pull. “Where?”
            “We’re dancing.”
He dug his heels in even deeper and pulled his hand from mine. “No.”
I thrust out my bottom lip.
            “No! That was just a…”
“A tease,” I accused. “And it was nice, but the evidence is still inconclusive.”
“Evidence of what?” he asked with an exasperated laugh.
I shrugged. “Of whether you’re a good dancer, and therefore, good in bed.”
His brows lifted in surprise. A second later, though, a very slow smile moved over his face. He leaned forward and dropped his mouth next to my ear. “I can give you proof, but like I said, I don’t dance.”
My stomach somersaulted. That wasn’t a nudge. That was more of a whack upside the head. “Why, Mr. Hollister, are you propositioning me?” I asked in a horrible fake southern drawl.
He assessed me for a moment. “Maybe I am. Would that be so wrong?”
What a frustrating move, turning it around on me. My insides trembled, but a rush of excitement took flight in my bloodstream. I knew I should just laugh it off and get back to the game, but a part of me was itching to see how far he was willing to take this flirtatious banter.
I smiled coyly and shrugged. “Another drink, and I may be propositioning you.”
He stood and grabbed my glass from the table. “Allow me to get you a refill, then.”

Well, there you go!  Thanks for reading!

The Truths about Dating and Mating
Author: Jaycee DeLorenzo
Release Date: November 21, 2012

Spunky Italian coed Ivy Rossini likes to talk and push the boundaries. She gets to do both as she co-hosts Riordan College’s radio program, The Truths about Dating and Mating, alongside her lifelong best friend, Ian Hollister.

Being the only girl who cares to see beyond Ian’s bad boy reputation has its advantages, especially when he’s scaring off the jerks who just want to nail the campus sex-guru. It’s when he’s “protecting” her from the advances she welcomes that she wants to lob him over the head and tell him to butt out. But Ivy’s feels like she’s the one who’s taken a hit when Ian almost kisses her at a party. She knows she should feel relieved when he pulls away, so why is she disappointed instead?

What’s worse, Ivy’s now getting aroused by Ian’s slightest touch and can’t stop entertaining thoughts of a romantic future. But Ian doesn’t do relationships, and she’s not interested in anything casual. In the end, Ivy decides it’s best to keep her growing feelings a secret and hope they’ll pass. However, when Ian begins hinting at wanting to take things to the next level, she’s forced to decide if a chance at something more is worth risking everything they’ve built.

With their friendship and her heart hanging in the balance, can Ivy follow the advice she and Ian give their listeners - to communicate, be honest, and trust in themselves - or will insecurity, stubbornness, and pride ruin any chance of their relationship getting off the ground?

A bottle of body-wash
Without further ado, here is what OCEAN KILLS, a sexy New Adult Urban Fantasy, is all about:

Around the world, murderers and rapists pick off the innocent. Killing loved ones, separating families, and ruining lives.

As an eight-year-old girl, Ocean witnessed her family’s massacre and something altered inside her. Twisting her genetic code… unlocking an ability to teleport.

Ocean Breeze was never destined to be normal, especially being named after air-freshener. She’s a shadow, a ghost—a dark saviour of the innocent. Armed with a switchblade in her bra, and a box-cutter in her pocket, she hunts the filth of the world.

Callan Bliss is a Sydney Police Officer whose skill set is far above a normal cop. All his fellow officers see is a hard-worker who loves to catch perpetrators and surf, but that’s because they don’t know his past. When Callan arrests a suspicious looking prostitute, coming face to face with a self-confessed vigilante, his secrets aren’t that easy to keep silent anymore.

Ocean hates the police with a passion, and has no intention of being held captive by a cop, even if he is sexy as hell. Teleporting from under his nose, Ocean hunts her next target—a man responsible for the largest sex ring in South Africa—and he’s about to die. But she doesn’t count on Callan giving chase, nor the body-quaking lust which consumes them. Oh, How I Miss You Blogfest!

Hey, friends! Today is the Oh, How I Miss You Blogfest hosted by Andrew Leon, Matthew MacNish, and Alex J. Cavanaugh!

I found this blogfest on Alex's blog, and knew I had to participate. What we are supposed to do for this blogfest is list one to three blogs that we love, but haven't seen blogging very much lately. Then we are supposed to post one to three blogs that we would miss very much if they stopped blogging. Well, once I saw that, I just knew who I wanted to feature!

When I started my blog, I started as both a book blogger and a writer, so I had a dual-type blog, if you will. There are two bloggers who I don't see posting very much recently that I followed as a book blogger and a writer.

The first blogger I miss is an amazing book blog called:

Dreaming In the Pages by Shawna LeAnn

Click to Shawna's blog!
I absolutely love this girl, and love this blog! We both started our blogs around the same time last year and became quick friends. She has awesome recommendations for books, and a super cute blog. She hasn't been posting as much lately, and I'd love to see her back. Love your blog, Shawna!

The second blogger I miss is an amazing writing blog called:

The Writing Hour. by Aubree Hale

Aubree also started her blog around the same time I did last year. She has a great writing blog with awesome tips for fellow writers. Haven't seen her around much lately and would love to have her back!

So, onto the bloggers I would miss very much if they didn't blog very much.

The first:
So, You're a Writer by Carrie Butler
Click to Carrie's blog!

Words cannot express how much I would miss Carrie if she didn't blog anymore. Not only is she my NA Sister from NA Alley, but she's a good friend. She posts every Monday on her blog, and has great tips and fun content for writers.

Carrie, don't you dare go anywhere, or I will be super mad at you!

The Second:

Jade, Jade, Jade... LOVE this girl! Not only does she have a killer name, but her stellar book, Ocean Kills, is coming out soon, and I just can't wait. Her awesome blog has me clicking away the instant I see a new post from her in my feed. Check this girl out. You won't regret it!

So those are the bloggers I miss and would be missed if they didn't blog so much. Thanks for hosting this blogfest Andrew, Matthew, and Alex!

The Crimson Hunt is LIVE! Eep! - Early Release!

Ahh!!!! I couldn't help myself!!!

The Crimson Hunt is LIVE my friends.

You can get it on AmazonBarnes and Noble, and Smashwords!

Thanks so much everyone :D

The Next Big Thing Meme!

Hello everyone! I was tagged by awesome NA author Marion Croslydon AND stellar writer/ blogger Samantha May in The Next Big Thing Meme. In this meme, we have to talk about what project we've been working on, and with the release of The Crimson Hunt within days of publication, I decided to cheat and talk about that. Enjoy! And thanks for the tag, ladies :D

Where did the idea come from for the book?

The idea for The Crimson Hunt actually came from a gap I saw in the fiction market. I wanted to write a book about college students, something I hadn’t seen in the market at the time. So that was the foundation, then I started thinking about all the things I loved seeing in movies. I wasn’t a big reader and movies were all I had to go by. I wanted a snarky, Bridget Jones-type character, thrown into a situation with a lot of action. I wanted heavy romance, but I wanted fight scenes and a suspense/ thriller setting. Once I drafted all the things I wanted to see, I put it all together and The Crimson Hunt was born.

Vanessa Marano
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Well, I haven’t given too much thought into this. When I “cast” my characters, I usually use models, but there are a few actors I stumbled upon that would be a pretty good fit. To play my snarky heroine, Ariel, I’d cast Vanessa Marano from the television show Switched at Birth. She looks the part, and her attitude is so Ariel.

Robert Adamson
For my mysterious hero, Luca, I’d cast an actor I saw on the television show Lincoln Heights, named Robert Adamson. He’s got the look and the swagger for my leading man.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

I will be self-publishing all of the books in the Eldaen Light Chronicles as well as all future works as of now. This is gives me more freedom, and is the best fit for me as an author.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?

It took me three weeks to write the first draft of The Crimson Hunt. I bought, of all things, a how to write fiction book. It was my first novel and I wanted to do it right. I followed the format and three weeks later I had a book!

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

This is a hard question because what I’ve written (from what I’ve seen) is the first. The Crimson Hunt is a new adult science fiction romance. Not only are science fiction romances hard to find, but finding one set in college just doesn’t happen. If I had pick a comparison, I would say Violet Midnight by Lynn Rush, and the upcoming release of STRENGTH by Carrie Butler, which I beta read for. Both of these are paranormal, but they are set in college with speculative elements just like my book.

Now, I get to pass along the torch to three fantastic writers, but I’m going to do my ladies from NA Alley so that makes six. (Yes, I’m a cheater). Go for it ladies!

A Small Holiday Fling "Tease" Before the Weekend!

Hey all! Just wanted to drop in and thank everyone for another awesome cover reveal!  Look out for Holiday Fling on November 26, and to start the weekend off right, here is a little "tease" from the work!

Happy Holidays Er-- I mean Happy Friday!!!

The Set Up:

My heroine, Tarrah, first sees her hero, Chase!

Enjoy!

He stood there tall and dashing, peering down at her with a set of mesmerizing sapphire eyes. It wasn’t the eyes that had her sex-drive squealing into overdrive; it was that…hair. Now, Tarrah had never really been into redheads before, but damn, she sure as hell would be willing to convert. It was short with just a bit of curl to it and styled in a handsome business cut.
Shaking her head, Tarrah scanned down. His body was dusted in freckles. Tarrah knew because she could see a bit creeping out from the top of his shirt. They dotted his neck and lightly coated his face, concentrating around his nose and forehead. She idly wondered if those freckles were all over his body, but his clothes covered way too much to tell.
            Damned shirt.
Still, the navy checkered number he wore under his carpenter jacket accentuated his frame quite nicely. She could tell he was built, but again, the clothing covered far too much.
            “Are you okay?”
Tarrah’s head shot up. What was she doing? She was ogling this guy like a fat kid in a cake factory.

P.S. - On MONDAY - Look for a special blog hop announcement ;D
