What's crazy is it's the final day and now we get to look ahead at the books we are looking forward to reading in 2013. This year has been a GREAT year for NA. So many people were exposed to it and devouring the books like crazy. It's so great that readers are showing their support and I can't wait to share the new NA titles that I can't wait to read in 2013!

Without Covers:
Ocean Slays by Jade Hart
Destiny's Gift by Juliana Haygert

I know I have eleven, but I'm a cheater, LOL.

Best New Adult Book Boyfriends of 2012

Today is another entry in the Top 10 of 2012, a meme hosted by Two Chicks on Books, Fiktshun, Confessions of a Bookaholic, A Life Bound By Books, and Magical Urban Fantasy Reads, in which we celebrate the awesome books of 2012!

Eep! I'm so excited to list the new adult boys that melted my heart this year! So here we go!

10. Cage York

Cage, Cage, Cage... What can I say about this bad boy besides yum! Between his nipple piercing and that foul mouth of his he just had me in a daze of book boyfriend crazy. Love this kid!

9. Jake Cunningham

Sigh... I love this grad student vamp hunter! In the slew of bad boys that were featured this year in NA, Jake is quite a change, but I'm happy to say it was for the better! He's so sweet and considerate. And my god, is he sexy as hell! I love guy and he can save me from a vamp any day!

8. Will Cooper

Will Cooper, Will Cooper, Will Cooper! Eep! Another college boy here who is a gentlemen to a fault. AND he is into slam poetry. Yum, and major cool points!

7. Lucas

Another grad student! I think we're seeing a trend of what gets me excited when I read a NA tale! This boy not only is smart, but he teaches self defense, but what's even better is he lets his lady shine. She stands up for herself and he steps in when needed. Love that!

6. Callan Bliss

What do you get when you have an aussie cop from down under? Absolutely crazy smexy points! This guy is a badass. He's not just a normal foot cop. He's got mad CIA/ computer hacker skills. And his girl is a murdering vigilante so he must have nerves of steel!

5. Gideon Cross

Ah, a playboy billionaire dom... Yum! What I love about Gideon is that he's not afraid to step back a bit when he needs to. He's not crazy controlling. Don't get me wrong, he loves control, BUT he's man enough to step back when he needs to AND say he's sorry when he does something wrong. So sweet!

4. Ian

*Gasps* I know it's Ian and NOT the other man candy of The Host, Jared. I guess if you check out my post from yesterday you'll see why. I loved Wanderer and so naturally Ian holds a special place in my heart, as well. He's so sweet and helpful to her. I just love that!

3. TJ Callahan

Ah, TJ... Can I wrap this kid up and keep him all for myself? What a lovely hero this guy is. He takes care of Anna on the island and is forced to become a man very fast. Not only that, but he's dealing with cancer in the midst of it. Such a strong guy :D

2. Kellan "hot bod" Kyle

He's a rockstar. And hot. Yeah... it's kind of hard not to like him. I rooted for him from the very beginning of his story over the actually boyfriend. That's saying something. He was just so likable and sweet. Love this rocker!

1. Teren Adams

Teren has it really been a whole year since I read about you? *breaks out Kindle and swoons* When I made this list, it was no contest who my one would be. He is just.... *shakes head* I have no words. He's sweet, sexy, passionate, successful, a part vampire, um... Yeah, no words. I'm done here people. I'm just done.

So there you have it! My top 10 new adult book boyfriends for 2012!

Any book boys that got you going in all the right ways for the year?

The Space Between has a book trailer!!!

Hey everyone! Merry Christmas Eve! I just wanted to drop by an introduce you all to the book trailer to my newest novel set to release April 2, 2013!

Check out, The Space Between!

Blurb:
When Drake started the night at his father’s campaign fundraiser, he never imagined he’d end it being conned into buying drugs on the West Side. Losing high-stakes poker has its consequences, but he’d repeatedly face them just to hear Lacey Douglas sing. Drake sees Lacey light up the stage, and he has to have her. But his intentions for being on her side of town turn out to be the reason he can’t.

Chicago native Lacey has dreams of the opera, but life has its obstacles. Lacey has come to know her hardships as part of living in the real world and accepts them fully. When Lacey meets the intense and invigorating Drake, a fire is lit inside her, unleashing those dreams again.

Two paths that should have never crossed prove to create the exact pairing the other needs. But when their worlds take time to catch up, everything they have is tested. Finding the space between the two sides that challenge them will be hard, but it’s the only place that will keep them together.

The Space Between is a new adult contemporary romance.

The Best Books I Read in 2012

Hey friends! Happy Christmas Eve! I'm very excited about this week because it's not ONLY Christmas week, but we get to celebrate the best reads of 2012 on our blogs. It's a meme hosted by Two Chicks on Books, Fiktshun, Confessions of a Bookaholic, A Life Bound By Books, and Magical Urban Fantasy Reads. I participated in this last year and it was so much fun I had to do it again. My blog was fairly new (like a month old) and I was unprepared, but it got my feet wet in book blogging and I couldn't be more grateful to discover what book bloggers were and the awesome resource they are.

So today we post the 10 best books we read of 2012. They didn't have to be released in 2012, but just read in 2012. So not in any order here they are.
Note* ALL my lists for this week will be New Adult reads because that's all I read with the exception of two or three in 2012 ;D

On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves

This one literally made me cry at the end. It was so beautiful and I loved TJ ;D

Violet Midnight by Lynn Rush

Three words: kick ass heroine! This vamp kicking chick rocks and her hero is swoonworthy!

Noah by Elizabeth Reyes

This one was definitely a surprise for me. An awesome smexy read and a ripped cutie-pie hero!

Because of Low by Abbi Glines

Well, I discovered Abbi Glines this year with this book and it still remains my fave. Marcus is a doll and Low is so sweet. Loved them both.

Conversion by SC Stephens

The first of many SC Stephens reads you will find on this blog this week. She changed my life and inspired what new adult is to me. This chick is ahead in the game and I can't wait for more of her stuff next year!

Flat Out Love by Jessica Park

With this book it wasn't the hero and it wasn't the heroine. It was the whole package. The concept was fresh and the execution was amazing. Hope she writes more in 2013.

Thoughtless by SC Stephens

Now, I said I wouldn't rank, but it's hard NOT to say this was close to the best book I read this year. The hero is just too melt-my-kindle hot for words and the drama was amazeballs. Loved it!

Ocean Kills by Jade Hart

Now, my writing bestie put this out and as soon as I beta read I knew I had to read EVERYTHING this woman will EVER put out. It's amazing and so original. Can't wait for the sequel!

The Host by Stephanie Meyer

Now, I attempted this one when it came out and was brutally defeated. It's been sitting on my shelf since 2006. I got it out because I saw the movie trailer and after that it was like a light clicked on. Maybe my added years helped, but this book changed the way I write Sci-Fi. This woman knows what she's doing and I can't wait for the movie, and I will admit I cried at the end of this book. Not like watery eyes or gentle tears, but straight cried. I was in the bathroom with Kleenex and the hubs thought I was crazy, lol. Just loved this story!

Bared to You by Slyvia Day

This one was a refresher for me. I will admit I am a 50 Shades fan girl, BUT all the things it was missing this book has. This woman can seriously write her butt off and it shows through the writing. Gideon is amazing and I can't wait to finish the series in 2013 :)

So there you have it. The best books I read in 2012. What are some of yours?

What is new adult and what books count for the challenge?

Kristan Hoffman, winner of the St. Martin's Press New Adult contest, was once quoted by Cally Jackson as saying:

“The Transition from child to adult doesn’t happen overnight--just ask as anyone who is or has been (or is a parent to) a teenager. But the transition from teen to adult doesn’t happen overnight either. There’s a period of time where adulthood feels like a new pair of shoes. The expectations of independence and self-sufficiency are still new, still being broken in. New Adults are the people who have just begun to walk in those shoes; New Adult fiction is about their blisters and aches.”

Cally Jackson’s post about “The Missing Genre” and Kristan Hoffman’s post for Writer's Digest "New Adult: What Is It" sum up nicely why we’re here--why we are writing New Adult fiction, and why we’re blogging about it. Because the genre is breaking in its new pair of shoes, too, and this blog is about those blisters, those aches, and ultimately, the successes that come with finding independence and self-sufficiency.

What age brackets to reach for: Books with protagonists in their late teens or early twenties (18-30 years of age) who are usually post-grads of high school and are living out in the adult world taking care of themselves. Generally, these are things to look for. Use the ages of 18 - 30 as a guideline. Everything else, just use your judgment!

What genres count: Any genre that falls into the age bracket and consists of new adult themes (ie college, first jobs, etc.) count. That means fantasy, dystopian, paranormal, contemporary, etc.

When does the challenge start and end? January 1, 2013 - December 31, 2013
