I Wrote a Novella!

Well everyone I did it!  I started my novella last Thursday, a short 40,000 word work based on two of my characters to the sequel of my manuscript The Crimson Hunt, and I wrote the last word on the page today!  I laughed, I cried, but most of all--I finished!

I didn't know how easy this would be for me to do.  I was used to writing 90,000 word count books with the handy Snowflake Method that I use and wasn't quite sure if I could trim, trim, trim enough to write a book at 40,000 words and it still make sense and be well written...well I did it!

I'm so excited and when I finally get these books out the door for "Crimson" I would like to send off the novella as a companion.  And it is super funny, if I do say so myself :)  It actually ended up being a Romantic Comedy and "Crimson" is more of an action/adventure love story, so I was surprised by the direction of where this one went, but it turned out well!

I wrote from 4 POV's and OMG writing as a 23-year-old male...I thought 20 something! females were crazy!  Who says men aren't emotional???  Because they are!  lol.  Just wanted to let everyone know.  I'm so excited :)

Laterz!

Congratulations!!! That's fantastic! SO much writing in such a short time.

Way to go!

Thanks Kelley! It's that snowflake method. The man who created it is a genius. It usually only takes me around 3 weeks to write a book as long as I use it. Check it out it's awesome :)

Congratulations on finishing!

I hate people who rag on women for being so emotional and out-of-control. It's not that women like this don't exist, but people often forget that men are equally likely to overreact or go ballistic.

I know! I was literally like "this guy is spiraling like crazy!" I wanted to hand him a box of tissue and give him a big hug at one point, lol. Guys are sensitive as well even if they don't show it on the outside, haha

Good for you! That is awesome! I think a novella would be fun, but challenging too. And WOW - 4 POV's! You are amazing. Sounds wonderful. Congratulations.

OH - and I will have an award for you on my blog tomorrow :)

Hi! I'm stopping by from Leigh Covington's blog.
Congratulations on finishing the novella! I have never tried to write one before, but I bet it's super difficult to cut down 50,000 words, so bravo to you!

Thanks! I'd definitely like the information. I might do some editing and get rid of some of the spoilers so a separate release option is definitely a possibility!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this. Her name is Meredith Barnes. She has a blog called La Vie en Prose.

Thanks for checking out my blog! Yeah whittling down was a tough because I love to write like every character thought down on paper, lol. But it turned out well :)

Congratulations! I'm going to try to write something too, but it's still in the planning stage ;)
